Pounds for petsRSPCA officials have thanked all supporters and partners for their help to build new facilities at the Animal Centre in Chesterfield.

The rabbit house, which was officially opened on Monday 1st June 2015, is the first phase in the 1.5m Rebuild Project taking place on Spital Lane.

The state-of-the-art facility can house up to 24 rabbits and guinea pigs and can also provide a home for giant breed rabbits.

The appeal has already attracted support from Jonathan Moseley, James Wellbeloved and JBP Media – as well as a Derbyshire times Campaign.

Rachel Gray, RSPCA Chesterfield & North Derbyshire Branch Manager, said that she is excited that the first phase is completed and is encouraging visitors to an open day on June 21st.

The next phase will see the rebuild of the dog and cat blocks. Gary Taylor, Animal Centre Manager, said we still need the generosity and kindness of our local community. Continued support for the appeal is still needed so we can progress the project into its next phase.

Donations to the Rebuild Appeal can be made online, by post to the RSPCA Animal Centre, 137 Spital Lane, Chesterfield S41 0HL with cheques made out to RSPCA Chesterfield and North Derbyshire Branch or by calling 01246 273358.
