Tulip is a beautiful 10-year-old domestic short hair who’s slowly discovering just how lovely life can be.

When Tulip first came into our care, it was clear she hadn’t had much reason to trust people. She preferred to keep her distance, quietly watching the world around her and very much doing things on her own terms. Even affection seemed unfamiliar to her at first.

But over time, something really lovely has started to happen. Tulip began pressing her cheek gently into hands, choosing to purr during fuss, and showing those tiny moments of trust that feel absolutely huge for a cat like her.

Now in a foster home, she’s continuing to blossom beautifully. She’s settling in well and has even started to play, something we weren’t sure we’d ever see from this independent little lady.

Tulip will still need a calm, quiet home with patient people who understand that love doesn’t always happen instantly. But for someone willing to give her the time she needs, there’s a truly special cat waiting underneath it all.

Older cats and shy cats are so often overlooked, but Tulip deserves the chance to keep growing in confidence in a home of her own
