Volunteer Photographer

Are you a keen photographer? If you are, you’ll know that a picture speaks a thousand words. We’re looking for a creative volunteer who can help promote our work and the animals looking for new homes.

Overview

This is a fantastic volunteer opportunity that will enable you to meet new people and make new furry friends. You would be responsible for photographing and/or videoing animals at our animal centre, assisting us to promote them for rehoming, as well as capturing images at our events to publish on our website and social media channels.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Take photos and videos of our animals for their adoption profiles

  • Attend events and capture images to be shared on social media

  • Communicate with staff and other volunteers to help obtain photos and videos

  • Process and edit photos and videos and send them to the relevant team member for publishing

  • Ensure that content meets RSPCA policies and guidelines

Requirements for the role

  • Creative, with an eye for detail

  • Photography skills

  • Own equipment with appropriate insurance (the branch cannot take liability for any loss or damage caused to equipment)

  • Good IT and organisational skills

  • Self-motivated and able to work alone or as part of a team

  • Flexible and patient with our animals as they do not always like to stand still

  • A desire to support the animal welfare work of the RSPCA
